Hosted world vs dedicated server

A hosted world is easiest to start. A dedicated server is better when the group plays at different times or you do not want one player to be the permanent host.

Shared progression

Agree on how fast the group wants to progress. A server can feel empty if one player races through bosses and materials before everyone else sees the biome.

Crossplay and mods

Crossplay is easiest on a conservative setup. The more server-side systems and required client mods you add, the harder it becomes to keep mixed-platform players synchronized.

Group survival habits

• Build portal labels and shared storage rules early.
• Keep backup gear for corpse recovery.
• Do not move every rare material into one forward base.
• Use a shared goal for each session: boss prep, metal run, building or exploration.
